At the Saturday Pasadena Farmer’s market, my son wanted us to stop at a stand where a woman was cooking and handing out free samples. I usually skip the cooked stuff and stick to the produce, but the aroma won me over this time. I wasn’t disappointed by the taste.
The woman was selling seasonings from Benson’s – I had not had these, and according to the woman ( and Benson’s website ) they aren’t sold in stores, only direct.
We picked up a trial package that included Masterpiece, Supreme, and Zesty. The Supreme is outstanding on ground turkey, and has replaced paprika as the cornerstone of my West Coast turkey burgers. It seems to be comprised of rosemary, thyme, marjoram and other herbs – but the proportions are the secret here. Masterpiece is pretty good too on hamburgers. These are salt-free, they provide great flavor and let me decide exactly how much salt I put into a dish.
Thanks Benson’s!
